Shortly after a hurricane system just missed the Hawaiian Islands, a very unique and beautiful scene materialized while driving along Hawaii Belt Road early this morning. Out of the darkness, the golden sunlight suddenly appeared through a gap in the clouds, and illuminated this magnificent golden rain that was falling gently on the barren lava plain. It was truely one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen. Fortunately, I was able to stop on the side of the road and capture this scene as it only lasted a matter of minutes.
