While traversing the Pipiwai Trail, I crossed paths with a number of astounding waterfalls. This was the first I came upon; it was the sound of the splashing water off the main trail that led me here. The lighting was fascinating; the waterfall itself seemed to be the main light source since the sunlight was spotlighting the base of the falls through a gap in the overhead foliage.
